What Makes Mangalitsa Pork Different

Prized for its lineage and flavor, Mangalitsa pork comes from a heritage breed known for abundant intramuscular fat and slow development, earning comparisons to the “Kobe beef of pork.” The result is a refined yet robust eating experience rooted in tradition and craftsmanship rather than nostalgia.

  • Exceptional marbling that keeps the meat moist and rich during cooking
  • Naturally slow-grown pork, allowing flavor and texture to fully develop
  • A bold, savory profile that stands up to simple seasoning and long roasts

This same commitment to quality is reflected across our heritage pork cuts, alongside thoughtfully sourced American Wagyu options and classic ham and pork roasts designed for elevated home cooking.

What’s Included

  • 2x Bone-In Quarter Hams (Approx. 3.5 lb./ham)

Total package weight is approximately 7–8 pounds, making this bone-in ham ideal for roasting whole, carving for gatherings or portioning for multiple-meal enjoyment.

Sourced from Blue Dirt Farm

At Blue Dirt Farm in Blue Earth, Minnesota, Scott Haase raises Mangalitsa Berkshire pigs on pasture and woodland using regenerative farming practices, with a focus on craft and consistency. Regenerative farming encourages perennial-based agriculture that improves soil health and strengthens biodiversity with better results for farmers and the environment. Animals are given ample pasture access and a carefully managed diet, resulting in pasture-raised pork with superior marbling and depth of flavor.

Feed quality and breed selection play a central role in the final product. Blue Dirt Farm feeds certified organic, herbicide-free and pesticide-free feed to its Mangalitsa Berkshire pigs, never using antibiotics, steroids or hormones while raising animals in harmony with nature. The pigs’ slower growth rate and traditional husbandry practices support a richer texture and taste that set this heritage pork apart within the world of artisanal meats.
