Fertile Acreage Farm in the Minnesota River Valley has been a family-farm for three generations. With a 500 acres, they farm half of the land while the other half is left as prairie grass, lakes, and ponds. Their goal as a farm is to continue expanding their pastures for their pigs to root up, as they're raised outside in the sun, in the mud, and on the grass. Their animals have access to deep bedding and barns at night and during the winter, and the majority of their diet is spent brewers grain from a local brewer. This creates a rich marbling as they feed their mixed-heritage breed pigs about 4 tons in a week.
